How to make Pour-Over Coffee

If you have never taken the time to make a pour-over brew, here’s a step-by-step guide:

Gather your supplies

You’ll need a mug, the black pour-over coffee maker, coffee filters, ground coffee beans, and the kettle filled with water.

Time to Brew

1. Heat the water in your kettle to a boil, and then let it cool for a minute or two so the water can reach approximately 205 degrees.
2. Set your pour-over coffee maker on top of your mug, place a coffee filter inside the reservoir, and add your desired amount of coffee grounds. We recommend using about 1 oz of ground coffee (half of the bag of grounds provided) for the mug provided in your Tranquil Cabins kitchenette.
3. Once your water has cooled slightly, pour a small amount over the coffee grounds to wet them. Let it bloom for about 30 seconds. This helps release any trapped gasses and ensures an even extraction. After 30 seconds, slowly pour the rest of your hot water over the coffee in a circular motion.
4. Let the water slowly drain through the coffee filter and anticipate enjoying your delicious cup of pour-over coffee. Add a little sweetener and cream if that is how you prefer your morning java.
